アヴィニョン市ジャズ国際コンクールにおける木村百合子カルテット講評

フルーティスト木村百合子：現代フルートと日本伝統音楽に対する造詣の深さ、そしてその音色の素晴らしさに我々は大変印象を受けた。
フルートが地方伝統音楽に多用される故郷福島の豊かな郷土色が彼女の音楽に色濃く反映されている。イントロで聞いた尺八を思わせる巧みな表現は実に興味深い演奏であった。更なる飛躍の可能性を秘めている事は言うまでもない。

"Although the performance of the quartet is not yet quite parfect I have been deeply impressed by the flutiste Yuriko Kimura, by her sound,her mastery of the flute as a contemporary instrument and by her knowledge of the japanese musical tradition. I have learnt that she comes from the FUKUSHIMA district where the rich and popular tradition of flute playing has influenced her. I remember being particulary interested by one of her openings closely related to the “Shakuhachi” technics. Yuriko Kimura has talent, a talent which will grow and mature, acquire a style of its own."
